As the Executive Chairman, Joel Rhoades sets and implements the company's direction and strategy, and provides leadership to ProSphere’s executives. Joel began a career in government contracting when he founded a telecommunications and systems integrator company in 2001. He became a ProSphere shareholder in 2013. Joel has personally founded other government contract companies and has guided several entrepreneurs with start-up companies.
A proud Texan, Joel entered military service as a Texas Guardsman. In 1979, Joel volunteered to go to Germany with the Regular Army as a Captain. He served a three-year tour with the 1st Armored Division as an Armor Officer. After returning to the US, Joel continued his active service in the DC area and in November 2000, he retired from active military service with the rank of Colonel.
Joel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma. He is also a graduate of the Defense Department Program Management School at Fort Belvoir, and the Advanced Management and Chief Information Officer programs at the Information Resources Management College at the National Defense University.
